Appalachian Trail Overnight Adventure

A Hike & Hostel Experience with Dragonfly 🌿

Hello, everyone!

My name is Stacee Ash, better known as Dragonfly on the Appalachian Trail. I’m excited to invite you to a unique overnight adventure at Woods Hole Hostel, one of the oldest hostels along the Appalachian Trail!

Whether you’re curious about hiking, interested in backpacking or simply looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, this experience offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a little taste of Appalachian Trail life.

🛖 Where Will We Stay?

We’ll spend the night in a rustic bunkhouse, a charming cabin with multiple beds that offers an authentic glimpse into the simple lifestyle of Appalachian Trail hikers.

One of the highlights of our stay will be the delicious farm-to-table meals lovingly prepared by our hostel host.

Your overnight adventure includes:

• Farm-to-table dinner on Saturday

• Farm-to-table breakfast on Sunday

• Light refreshments

• Overnight bunkhouse accommodations

• A guided 3.5-mile hike on the Appalachian Trail

• Backpacking demonstrations, hiking tips and trail stories

• An evening bonfire with roasted pineapple and s’mores

🥾 What Can You Expect?

Our adventure begins Saturday at 10 a.m. when we’ll gather at Woods Hole Hostel, tour the property and settle into our bunkhouse.

Next, we’ll lace up our hiking boots or trail runners and head out for a beautiful 3.5-mile guided hike along the Appalachian Trail.

After returning to the hostel, we’ll explore the history of the Appalachian Trail, learn about backpacking equipment and discuss practical hiking and camping skills.

I’ll also share stories and lessons from my own 2023 Appalachian Trail thru-hike, when I traveled more than 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine.

As evening approaches, we’ll gather for a delicious farm-to-table dinner before settling around a cozy bonfire. Imagine an evening filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, trail stories and the sweet aroma of roasted pineapple and s’mores beneath the stars.

🎒 What Should You Bring?

Just a few essentials:

• Sleeping bag

• Personal toiletries

• Comfortable hiking shoes or trail runners

• Water bottle

• Personal snacks

• Trekking poles, if available

Don’t have trekking poles? No worries! I’ll be happy to loan you a pair.

🚗 Transportation and Carpooling

Carpooling is encouraged! I’ll be traveling from the Charlotte area and would be happy to help coordinate rides for participants interested in traveling together.

🌿 Why Join Us?

You don’t need to be an experienced hiker or backpacker to participate. This adventure is about much more than walking a trail.

It’s about stepping outside your everyday routine, connecting with nature, learning something new and experiencing the wonderful sense of community that makes the Appalachian Trail so special.

Sometimes the most memorable adventures aren’t measured by the miles we hike, but by the people we meet, the stories we share and the memories we carry home.

I hope you’ll join me for a weekend of adventure, friendship, laughter, delicious food and unforgettable memories.

Happy trails!
