  • A Roanoke family from Albuquerque is suing Delta and KLM for $200,000 after family members allege they were bitten by bed bugs on a connecting flight after departing from Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.  WSET

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Blacksburg high school teacher is leading a project with Parallel Histories (a local nonprofit) that helps teachers show students different views on historical topics like Israel and Palestine.  The Roanoke Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Glenn Youngkin announced enhanced DUI enforcement as part of Virginia’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign; law enforcement will run sobriety checkpoints and patrols from Dec. 10 to Jan. 1 to help drivers plan for safe rides home.  New River Valley News
  • The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a $484,863 grant to the Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority on Dec. 26 to build three new 3,600 sqft hangars at the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport in Blacksburg.  New River Valley News
