- ➤ Auburn High School art students are decorating Riner Rescue Squad and the local fire department with festive murals to brighten the holidays while supporting community projects (like supplying care facilities) today. - ➤ The YMCA at Virginia Tech held its annual Holiday Tea at the Lancaster House in Blacksburg yesterday + served a wide range of teas and treats while uniting community members to support local programs. New River Valley News

- ➤ Mountain Valley Pipeline announced plans to build the Swann Compressor Station (located at 6684 Cove Hollow Road in Elliston) to add 25% capacity to its MVP Mainline. - ➤ Mike Gummer of Christiansburg and Tracy Burlingame of Riner won The Radford Photo Club’s November challenge by capturing a Shawsville barn and a foggy sunrise. A photo shoot is set for Monday, Dec. 15, at the Inn (Virginia Tech) for holiday decoration shots (10 a.m.). News Messenger

- ➤ Columbia Gas of Virginia explained how one dollar for natural gas is allocated (43 cents for gas purchase, six cents for taxes, 23 cents for operations, and 28 cents for infrastructure improvements) to support safety and community infrastructure. The company encourages customers to visit its website or call for help with energy costs. Cardinal News
- ➤ Appalachian Power will upgrade the local grid in Pulaski, Montgomery and Floyd counties by rebuilding an 18-mile transmission line from Claytor Lake to Floyd using community open houses for input; construction will start in fall 2029 and finish by late 2032. WSLS 10
