ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation has created a new natural area preserve called Eastern Divide in Montgomery County near Blacksburg to protect an at-risk cave species, the Ellett Valley millipede. The preserve covers nearly 34 acres and will improve water quality in the upper reaches of the North Fork of the Roanoke River.  New River Valley News
