- ➤ Longshop-McCoy Fire & Rescue will hold its 2025 Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 11 at 5770 McCoy Road in Blacksburg with $8 admission and a menu of pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, juice and water. Proceeds will benefit the volunteer fire & rescue. New River Valley News
- ➤ The Christiansburg Fire Department is leading Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 5—11, by teaching residents to safely handle lithium-ion batteries and prevent home fires. - ➤ The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation will host its 10th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ on Saturday, October 11 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at St. Luke and Odd Fellows Hall in Blacksburg, where visitors will enjoy live music and can purchase beer, wine & barbecue with a suggested $10 donation to support the preservation of New Town's only remaining building.
