- ➤ Virginia Tech announced that the Ujima and Lavender House Living Learning Communities will be dissolved at the end of spring 2026 following a Board of Visitors vote to close the Office of Inclusive Strategy and Excellence—students said the change will remove safe spaces for marginalized groups. The university will share details on new community options during the October returning student application process. Collegiate Times

- ➤ Virginia Tech researchers at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute released the initial data set from a long-term child development study; the project follows more than 1,400 pregnant women and their children to age 10 to learn how prescription medications during pregnancy may affect early brain development—findings that could guide future pregnancy care.
