- ➤ Virginia Tech was ranked tied for No.51 among National Universities and tied for No.21 among Top Public Schools in the U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Colleges rankings released Tuesday — the list compared over 1,400 institutions and highlighted strong programs in engineering, business and science. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that eligible Virginia taxpayers will receive tax rebates of up to $200 for individual filers and up to $400 for joint filers this fall if they filed by November 3 and had tax liability in 2024 (early filers before July 1 will get rebates by October 15, with any owed debts deducted before the balance is sent). - ➤ House of Delegates candidates Lily Franklin and Chris Obenshain—seeking support in District 41—spoke at an AARP forum at Blacksburg Community Center Wednesday night where they discussed tax credits for caregivers, plans to protect Medicaid benefits, and strategies to address high prescription costs.
