HEALTH NEWS

➤ Virginia Tech — based in Blacksburg — received a $414,482 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 25 to support cancer research. The funds, awarded through the HHS Exploratory/Developmental Grants program, will help fuel projects testing new cancer treatments. New River Valley News
