Christiansburg Police are asking for help from the public to identify a suspect captured on surveillance footage in connection with a larceny at Southern Team Nissan—2130 North Franklin Street—that occurred on June 15th.

The Montgomery County Public School Board accepted Superintendent Dr. Bernard F Bragen Jr.'s resignation on Friday, effective August 30, and the board will now appoint an interim superintendent + start the search for a permanent replacement.

It noted Bragen's service and his wish to be closer to family.

On July 3, the new Chair for the Health Subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce was appointed and toured rural hospitals in Pennington Gap, Richlands, Giles County, Blacksburg and a dental facility in Martinsville to discuss federal policy shifts and telehealth options. She will work with Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie on analyzing policies such as the $50 billion rural hospital stabilization fund and expanding incentives for new providers—efforts aimed at boosting rural health care.
