  • Virginia DMV and State Police are promoting the ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign through May 31 to remind everyone to buckle up as busy Memorial Day travel approaches. Officials warn that increased enforcement and nighttime patrols (under the Christopher King Law) aim to reduce crash injuries and fatalities.  New River Valley News
  • Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport is marking 20 years of Allegiant’s service by hosting a Facebook contest that offers two $250 flight vouchers for travel from ROA. Since May 2006, the airline has served over 1.1 million passengers.  WSLS 10

  • A community health center in the New River Valley is set to expand its services with plans to add new facility space to help more residents. The project will begin soon and aims to boost access to care.  WDBJ7
  • YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge is promoting a summer water safety program for families; the center will offer classes (covering pool and lake tips) at local branches starting this season.  WDBJ7
