- ➤ Blacksburg Community Symphony will perform Fantasia and Beyond at the Warm Hearth Village Center on Friday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 at 3:00 p.m. The free, family-friendly concert features Disney classics with orchestral works by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, and Respighi. - ➤ On May 2, the Ati: Wa:oki Indigenous Community Center and Native@VT will host a Spring Powwow with dancing, singing, educational programs, and arts and crafts outdoors near Duck Pond (backup available at the War Memorial for rain); the free event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Collegiate Times

- ➤ Gas prices in Virginia rose 4.9 cents per gallon last week, reaching $3.93/g on Monday, according to GasBuddy's survey — which covered 4,081 stations — while prices increased 6.1 cents from last month and are 95.2 cents higher than a year ago. WSET
