- ➤ The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help finding 16-year-old Amelia Elyce Grehofsky (described as Black, 5′5″ tall and 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes) who was last seen by family on April 25 at about 3 p.m. WDBJ7
- ➤ Virginia Tech Police said four electric scooters were stolen from near residence halls on Blacksburg campus on the evening of April 23 and told students to secure their scooters with a U Lock — they urged anyone to report suspicious activity immediately. WSET
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Local residents joined in the 15th annual Fork and Cork Festival on Saturday at Historic Smithfield where wineries, breweries, food vendors and car enthusiasts gathered to celebrate Blacksburg’s local culture—organizers say the event highlights strong community investment. Villa Appalaccia Winery returned for the fifth year among eight wineries offering their best reds and whites at the festival. WDBJ7
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Virginia Tech said it is working with legal groups and elected officials to support its research, education and outreach mission after concerns raised by national college associations. The university said it is restoring SEVIS records for international students in Optional Practical Training—helping them earn degrees, do research and assist in teaching. Virginia Tech News
