- ➤ At Lane Stadium on Saturday, a skydiver was left hanging from the Jumbotron after a gust blew him off course during a pregame show; Blacksburg Fire Department crews took 20 minutes to rescue him and he suffered a shoulder injury. WSET

- ➤ Blacksburg residents can enjoy the local Porchfest Performance today as musicians gather on porches across town (organizers will share specific times and locations soon). WDBJ7
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Roanoke, Carilion Clinic and local partners have announced RoVa Labs, a biotechnology incubator that will support research+start-ups in the region. The incubator will create 250 jobs in the next five years and connect breakthrough research with a vibrant downtown. WSLS 10
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Blacksburg Fire Department announced it has added Virginia Tech Parachute Rescue to its specialized emergency services after completing rigorous training. Officials say the move boosts the department's rescue operations at high angles and improves local public safety. WDBJ7
- ➤ Gov. Spanberger signed an executive directive Monday ordering the Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry to establish the Virginia Wood Council — a new advisory group to support the forestry industry and local loggers amid federal tariff challenges. WSLS 10
- ➤ Governor Spanberger announced appointees to the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors on Monday, Apr. 20, and their appointments will begin on July 1 (to serve on the presidential search committee) as the university starts its search for a new president. WDBJ7
