- ➤ Virginia Tech’s Fraternity and Sorority Life is hosting Greeks Giving Back on April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Blacksburg. - ➤ On Saturday, a skydiver became stuck on the Lane Stadium scoreboard when gusts disrupted a pregame jump for the spring football game (the volunteer fire department spent 30 minutes lowering the individual with no injuries reported). WSET
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Virginia Tech Board of Visitors approved tuition and fee increases for the next school year on Tuesday. The changes will affect student costs starting this fall at campus in Blacksburg. The Roanoke Times

- ➤ The spotted lanternfly is spreading in our area as warmer weather speeds up egg hatching, threatening local trees and crops. Virginia Department of Agriculture experts advise residents to scrape off egg masses from property surfaces (they measure about 1.5 inches long) to reduce the pest's impact. WSLS 10
