- ➤ Cam Thepsimuong, a 16-year-old battling osteosarcoma since early July, will throw out the first pitch today at a Salem Red Sox game in a celebration organized by the AWARE Foundation—Mainstream Mental Health Services and the Salem Red Sox. WSLS 10
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On April 18 at 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of East Main Street and High Meadows Parkway in Radford when a 2021 Ram pickup’s trailer hit a 2012 Kawasaki—operated by 19-year-old Michael Price—causing him to be thrown off his bike and taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. - ➤ The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts will present an adaptation of Little Women from April 23 to 26 at Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg—Kate Hamill adapted the play and Amanda J. Nelson directed it. Tickets cost $15 for the public and $12 for students and seniors. WSLS 10

- ➤ The Virginia Tech Center for Drug Discovery is hosting an open house today for researchers to see the Screening Lab's tools including the Microlab STAR robotic platform. Attendees will learn how automated screening tests thousands of compounds for anti-malarial activity + gain insights to support future research proposals. Virginia Tech News
