  • Sam Diamond, a 23-year-old Virginia Tech senior majoring in Computer Science (and a proud Hokie), died on April 6 in Blacksburg. His family plans a memorial service in late May or early June and will start a scholarship in his honor.  New River Valley News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Montgomery Museum will host a Mini Barn Quilt Painting Workshop Saturday, April 25 (1–3:30 p.m.) led by Sharon Chickering and Phyllis Garnett-Deakin. Registration costs $45 for Museum Members and $50 for non-members, with all materials and lemonade provided.  New River Valley News
