- ➤ Muhammed Muheisen visited Virginia Tech on Tuesday, Apr. 7 to speak at the Center for the Arts about his project — Beauty Beyond the Front Lines — and detailed his photojournalism work documenting conflict. Collegiate Times
- ➤ Virginia Tech freshman Manas Karki won the Giovanni-Steger poetry prize on April 8 at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Blacksburg — his winning poem Visa Length describes his experience with the visa process and the contest celebrated accessible poetry. Collegiate Times
- ➤ Tim Sands, Virginia Tech's president for 12 years, announced on Thursday, April 9 that he would step down to allow his successor to take over with a smooth transition; his tenure saw significant enrollment growth and key academic initiatives advance. Collegiate Times
