- ➤ Virginia Tech will host its 21st Annual Big Event on Saturday, April 11. Volunteers will meet at the Drillfield at 9 a.m. to work on nearly 900 service projects across Blacksburg and nearby areas (registration closes on April 8 at 11:59 p.m.). Collegiate Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ New River Community College is offering four free summer camps for local middle and high school students this summer. Registration opens Wednesday, Apr. 1, with camps scheduled in Dublin and Christiansburg for robotics, forensic science, legal trials — and public safety. New River Valley News
- ➤ Virginia Tech became home to a rare‐earth element separation plant built by Aclara Resources on March 19 + the facility offers hands-on research for engineering students while testing extraction methods aimed at rebuilding the domestic supply chain. Collegiate Times
