- ➤ On Saturday, April 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., residents can pick up leaf mulch at Glade Road Growing. Registration is required for a 30-minute time slot with a 2 cubic yard per vehicle limit, and the Town will load the mulch. New River Valley News

- ➤ Virginia Tech students presented innovative research at a campus symposium yesterday in Blacksburg, sharing projects with local experts & community members while university officials noted the presentations highlight emerging directions in science. WDBJ7
- ➤ Blacksburg High School hosts a regional robotics competition today at 9:30 a.m. in its gymnasium where 30 teams from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. compete in a free event attended by over 500 community members (including elementary STEM tours). WSLS 10

- ➤ Hummingbird migration is underway as the tiny travelers now appear across Virginia — experts note that these birds can travel up to 500 miles in one stretch and advise preparing feeders with the proper sugar-water mix to support their journey. WSLS 10
