  • The Wasena bike and skatepark opens today after final preparations, offering a new space for riders + skaters to enjoy wheeled fun in the local area. The park supports safe recreation and community use.  The Roanoke Times

  • The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Women’s Leadership Conference at The Inn at Virginia Tech on Thursday. The event, attended by 350 female business leaders (including ESPN reporter Lauren Sisler), offered powerful networking and advice for local entrepreneurs.  WSLS 10

EDUCATION NEWS

  • NRV Home Builders Association opened registration for the LEGO Home Building Contest sponsored by Carter Bank, inviting kids and adults 4 and up to submit custom home designs. The contest will take place at the NRV Home Expo on Mar. 21 and Mar. 22 at the Christiansburg Recreation Center, with winners announced on Mar. 22.  New River Valley News
