  • Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport urges travelers to arrive two hours early and have a Real ID or government-issued ID ready to catch spring break flights smoothly. The airport expects a five to ten percent rise in passenger traffic, so planning ahead is key.  WSLS 10
  • Local officials announced on Mar. 4 that lost photos are being returned to families in Blacksburg in an ongoing effort to reunite cherished memories. More details will be provided as the process continues.  WDBJ7
  • After nearly 45 years of leading Feeding Southwest Virginia—serving more than 400 meal programs across the region—founder Pamela Irvine announced her retirement. The nonprofit will celebrate its 45th anniversary on May 1 and name a new CEO this fall.  WSLS 10

  • Virginia Tech received a $709,867 grant from HHS on March 4 for research into metabolic disease at its Blacksburg campus. The funds will support studies on obesity and type 2 diabetes + advance local health care.  New River Valley News
