Virginia Tech resumed its beloved annual tradition of a snowball fight between Corps of Cadets and civilian students, marking a spirited community event after a three-year pause due to campus closures.
Several Montgomery County Consolidated Sites are temporarily closed or operating on regular schedules due to power outages and flooding, with anticipated reopenings on February 18.
Appalachian Power is actively restoring electricity for the remaining 19,000 customers affected by outages, with over 140,000 already reconnected and a goal to resolve most issues by Sunday night.
Smithfield and Kroger collectively donated $10,000 to The Market of Virginia Tech, a food pantry, during the Commonwealth Clash basketball game to support students facing food insecurity.
