- ➤ Marion 'M.L.' Lafayette Austin passed peacefully at home on Jan. 24; a service is planned for Feb. 6 at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg with visitation at 10:00 a.m. His lifelong faith and family values touched many in our community. New River Valley News
- ➤ StepStone Family & Youth Services is hosting the Wrapped in Love blanket drive from Feb. 2 through Feb. 13 to help foster youth feel warmth this winter. Donors can drop off new or gently used blankets at designated Christiansburg locations. New River Valley News
- ➤ A Vinton resident plowed driveways and sidewalks for neighbors in exchange for donations as ice and snow continued to affect local streets. Neighbors appreciated his efforts to ease the challenges of ongoing winter weather. WDBJ7
