  • City officials are weighing two renovation options for Buchanan Library after recent community input - a final decision is expected in the coming weeks.  WDBJ7

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Glenn Youngkin announced the first assistance checks were disbursed to affected farmers and timber landowners through the Virginia Farm Recovery Block Grant after Hurricane Helene, with nearly $61 million made available from 494 applications to cover market losses + infrastructure damage.  WDBJ7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Regional health updates show that flu numbers increased in southwest Virginia, the YMCA LEAN program taught local residents about fitness and nutrition, a new law required extra baby food testing, and Foot Levelers offered tips on improving posture.  WDBJ7
